Bruce Meyer is perhaps one of the most prolific Canadian authors of modern times. Known for his poetry, short stories, and works of non-fiction, he has also taught creative writing at many Ontario universities and works as a full-time editor in his spare time.
Listen in on Storylines as he discusses his most recent non-fiction book, Portraits of Canadian Writers (The Porcupine’s Quill), a collection of biographies that offers readers a window into the lives of some of Canada’s most recognizable literary personas. The photographs presented in this book, rescued from some of Meyer’s long-forgotten personal files, alongside Meyer’s anecdotes, reveal insights into personalities behind some of our generation’s mightiest pens, including Margaret Atwood, Leonard Cohen, Irving Layton and “a visual archive of CanLit that illustrates and celebrates an unparalleled generation of Canadian authorship.”
